When I was a little girl, I didn’t care what others thought about me. As I grew older, I lost that confidence, and I saw others that I thought were better than me. I longed to imitate them, but whatever I did, no matter how hard I tried, it was never perfect and usually didn’t last.
Everyone is born with unique gifts. This was a thought that I struggled to understand. For one reason, I was not sure if I had a talent, and I definitely could not figure out what made me special.
My friends and family raved about my writing. “No”, I would think, “I am not perfect at writing. I make a lot of mistakes.”
Just recently, I realized something that changed everything. It’s not about perfection. It is all about doing what makes you happy. When I write, I feel happy. It makes me feel good when I write about success and help people discover their passions and purpose in life.
Does it mean my writing has to be perfect? Well, no! It is something we do over and over again, because we love it. Of course, after a while, we do perfect our skill. Once we do this, we don’t have to compare ourselves to others or imitate someone else’s success because we will create our own success.
Lesson: Don’t worry about being someone else because they have an awesome talent. Find the passion that burns inside you; the one thing that you want do over and over again. The practice will fan the flame, and it will lead you to great success.
