Risks!

If you are not willing to risk the unusual, you will have to settle for the ordinary.

This speaks a lot to me.  Risks can seem scary.  Yet, they are so essential to our success.  I’m not going to talk a whole lot in this blog.  I am going to show more than talk.

At first, I thought, how could I talk about risk.  I really haven’t taken a lot of risks.  Well, I started writing them down so I could see.

The reason I was thinking about this is that someone said to me, “Well, you can’t really succeed until you get out of your comfort zone and take risks.”  A comfortable life is an ordinary life.

Once I started writing, I began to see that I have taken risks and that is why I have seen success in my life.  Here is the list that I came up with.  I believe that the list will get longer and longer.  As I go, I will keep the list going and re-post to show my progress.

Here is my risk list:

  1. Driving to a place I am not familiar with to visit a friend (this used to be a problem for me).
  2. Writing blogs that others may or may not like; they may or may not read them.
  3. Flying to another state all on my own.
  4. Moving to another state.
  5. Going back to college to get a bachelor’s degree.
  6. Going back to college to get a master’s degree.
  7. Starting a personal coaching business.
  8. Calling people I don’t know or just met to interview them for my blog.
  9. Buying a car at the age of 20 years of age.
  10. Getting a certification.

These are just some of the risks I have taken.  They may not seem like risks to others, but for me they were huge.  Once I did these, it changed me so much.  Most of these were a big thing for me and something that I had fear but did it anyway.

Challenge: Now, you get to write your list of ten risks that changed you or helped you succeed in an area of your life that is important.  It is important that you really feel proud of the risks that you write down.

Like I said before the challenge, I will add more risks as they come to me.  I will also add them as I take those risks.  It will be fun to see how many we can really get.  Please, leave me a message telling me how many risks you get.
