Heartfelt Letter to Readers

Hello Readers,

I am so excited about the response to my blog. You are all awesome and I appreciate each and every one of you. This week, as I wrote the gratitude blogs and the Star Corner Blog on Marcia Collins-Brown’s Resiliency, I actually caught a cold from my awesome, germ-sharing son, Daniel.

As I wrote the blogs, I realized I was feeling sad and a little depressed. You know the feeling you get when you really don’t feel like doing what you love. In some ways I felt like a hypocrite because I was telling you that life would be happier with gratitude affirmations. This wasn’t helping me at all.

During this time, I automatically increased all the things I do to keep me happy. This included my gratitude affirmations and prayer. Well, of course, something miraculous happened. Even thought I physically felt bad, I regained my happy state and continued to become more joyful in my situation.

Wow, can you believe that all it took was for me to increase my gratitude affirmations for me to feel happy during a time of sickness. Here is the thing, even physically I began to feel better. I was able to continue, maybe with a little less activity, to complete the work that I originally planned to do this week.

What does this tell us about gratitude affirmations? Yes, it does show us the power of gratitude affirmations but it shows us something else. As we go along in life, we have to maintain a certain level of gratitude affirmations. Next, we will have times where we go through the valley where we may have sickness, emotional stress, or maybe grief. This is when we need to be aware that we need extra help during these times. Finally, to combat the extra problems we go through, we need to increase our gratitude affirmations.

Challenge: Make plans to create extra gratitude affirmations that will help you though any tough time you go through. Understand that this is not a time to get down on yourself but instead have a strategy plan in place. Write out extra affirmations before these times come along.

Make sure that if you are becoming too overwhelmed, you need to go talk to someone. This is vital because sometimes life does get too hard for us to handle on our own. Maybe someone else can help put things into perspective and, maybe, someone else can help you create the gratitude affirmations and keep you be accountable for saying them morning and night.
